The Self Sufficient Sim: Day 1 con't - You want me to do what...?

Joe answers the phone. A strange voice, deep, gravely and sinister, informs Joe that the local supermarket is in need of freshly caught fish. They are so desperate apparently they don’t care what fish or what size they are. They just need them quick. Without stopping to wonder who the mysterious caller was, or why a supermarket had such woefull buying policies that they had run out of fish by 11:30 in the morning, or how they were going to make use of the three goldfish stuffed in Joe’s pocket, I send him running to the shop (no taxis remember). When he arrives we are given the frankly astronomical sum of 160s and I breath a sigh of relief. Money means security. Now I can afford to buy him stuff... oh and food. Joe returns to the house for some well earned dinner with a pocket full of ingredients (I hope I bought the right stuff!).

Just running to the shops with a pocket full of fish... as you do.

I'm sorry mate, we just couldn't
afford a chair AND a toilet
Having made the dinner I notice that Joe has disappeared. I eventually find him in an unfortunate position. Apparently, when there are no chairs available a sim does the only thing left to them, eat on the toilet. Feeling guilty that I am the cause of such suffering and heady with my new found wealth I buy a chair for Joe, to end his indignity. I also buy a light as well as the dark was affecting his mood. Having placed the items I suddenly realise I have spent all the money, and now I am back to square one. I had made enough to see me through the next week and then recklessly spent it all without much thought. All future purchases will have to be very carefully considered! With Joe silently judging me and admiring his new chair at the same time I can only guess that he has mixed feelings. Pleasure at no longer having to eat on the toilet and annoyance at such frivolous expense. Unable to bear his reproachful stare I send him off to bed. Tomorrow we will need to learn how to garden… somehow (I still don't know how, I'm starting to wonder how I ever managed to play games before Wiki came along).

And the Lifetime Happiness at the end of day 1? 789. A good start I think. Joe is 789 points happy. Without context its hard to guess the success of Joe's first day. Ill have to do a graph... that will help.
