Meet Joe Greensleaves. Joe left a well paid job as the IT lead of huge mega corporation, downtrodden by the corporate world, to try and lead a self sufficient life. He wanted to grow his own food, catch his own fish and... whatever else self sufficiency means. He believed happiness lay that way.

| This is Joe, like me, just much more attractive. |
I had the idea for Joe when messing about on the Sims 3. I noticed that I always played the same way. Make attractive female, get good job, build mansion, have family, quit, un-install, play something else. As I was pottering about with my new character Selina, I realised that Lifetime Happiness, what effectively amounts to a happiness score for your sim, is often boosted by a better job or more expensive stuff. I wanted to find out whether you could be just as successful by ignoring all those road signs and playing the game in a different way. Could Joe be happy with less instead of more?
